Karen is happy to serve as Worship Arts and Ministry Associate at Lewisville UMC, as she shares her gifts of music and relational ministry, focusing on youth and young adults. Outside of church, Karen is part of the staff team for Love Out Loud, a local nonprofit that seeks to transform our community with the love of Jesus by connecting and mobilizing its people and resources. Karen is passionate about seeing people thrive in their gifts, deeply connecting to one another, and service to others.

Karen also serves as the Board Secretary for SPARK (Share Peace and Rekindle Kindness) and is a Board Member of the Yadkin YMCA. As a certified health coach, she loves teaching group exercise at Jerry Long Family YMCA, as well as in local rehab facilities for women who have experienced trauma.

Karen has a bachelor’s degree in music education from Bridgewater College (VA), and is currently finishing her Master of Music in Sacred Music degree from Westminster Choir College. She has worked in education and church ministry for 20 years, and she loves finding new ways to serve her community. Of her many hats, one of her favorite roles is mom to her two teenagers, Kaylee and Josh.
