Clothing and Toy Exchange FAQS

 

Fall/Winter: September 11-20, 2023

Spring/Summer: March 4th-13th

Registration

  • Can anyone consign? Yes. You do not have to be a member of the church or the preschool to consign with us. The consignment is open to everyone!

  • How do I consign? To consign with us, register online. Then, we will leave a registration packet at the door for you to pick up at your convenience that includes your tags and instructions.

  • When do I bring my items? When you register online, you will sign up for a time to drop off.

  • Is there a limit of items I can bring? No. You may bring as many or as few things you would like to consign. 200 tags are given to begin. Each additional 25 tags will be $0.50.

  • Can I use my own tags? No. You must use the tags we provide. We will leave tags outside the preschool door for you to pick up at your convenience after you register.

  • If I have a prepaid number, do I still need to register? Yes. If you already have a prepaid number, you must still go online to register.

  • What is the cost to consign? $5 will be taken out of your check for the cost of consigning. There is a 40/60 split. The preschool will receive 40% of your sales, and you will receive 60%.

  • When do I get paid? You will receive your check when you pick up any unsold items, the Wednesday following our sale.

  • What if I can’t come back to pick up my check? You have the option to have your check mailed to you by providing us with a self-addressed stamped envelope. We will not hold items.

  • Can I use any type of hanger for my clothing? No. We ask that you use only wire hangers. Refer to the tagging instructions for correct placement.

  • Where do I get wire hangers? You can find wire hangers at local dry cleaners. They also sell them at Amazon, Dollar General, Walmart, etc.

  • How do I price my items? Pricing is totally up to you, the consignor. Some tips can be to compare your items to items at local consignment stores, eBay, etc.

  • How does the half price sell work? We have our half-price sale the following Monday from our main sale. If you decide to add the pink highlight to the front of your tag, it will be half price on Monday only.

  • What if my items do not sell, and I want to donate only a few items, but not all my items? If this is the case, you may add an X on the back of your tag to indicate a donated item. Also mark the, “Both donate and pick up” box during registration. You may also drop off in our donation room the day of pickup.

Accepted Items​

  • What sizes of clothing do you sell? We accept children’s sizes preemie-14/16, and Junior sizes up to XXL. Shoes up to size 12.

  • What if I have a large item (a trampoline, outdoor playground equipment, etc.)? For extremely large items, take a photo, and add a tag. Include your phone number to arrange pickup of the item from its current location.

  • How do I package loose toys? Any toys that have several pieces should be in a Ziploc bag, or a taped box. You may tape the tag on the outside of the bag/box.

 

Unaccepted Items

  • Do you accept maternity clothing? No.

  • What items do you not accept? We do not accept: Stuffed Animals, Maternity Clothes/ Clothes that are stained, soiled, have odor (foul smell such as spit up or smoke) torn or out of season, VHS tapes, Toys that are broken or inappropriate.

  • WE NO LONGER ACCEPT BEDDING. This includes all bedding, sheets, pillows, rugs, curtains, sleeping bags, blankets. (WE DO accept baby blankets.)

 

Volunteering

  • Can anyone volunteer? Yes. You do not have to be a member of the church or the preschool to volunteer with us. You do not have to be a consignor to volunteer.

  • How do I sign up to volunteer? You may sign up online. Visit our website for the up-to-date sign-up web link. You can also call our preschool.

  • Do I get to shop the presale if I volunteer? Yes. The presale is the Friday before the sale. If you volunteer, and work for 2 shifts or the Monday before, the Saturday of the sale or the Tuesday shift after the sale, you may shop at the sale at 4pm. If you work for 1 shift, you may shop at 5pm.

  • Can I volunteer and bring my children? We offer Free Childcare during your shift. You must include that you will need it to ensure we have a sitter during these times.

  • I want to volunteer, but I cannot do much physical activity. No problem. Be sure to let us know your abilities, and we will find you a job.

  • What do I do if I signed up to volunteer, but I cannot make it? If something comes up, please let us know as soon as possible. You may work a different shift to be able to shop the presale.
