Summer Preaching Series 2015
It’s not a trip to a fancy spa…It’s Summer 2015 at Lewisville United Methodist Church! Find refuge from the heat—and the busy-ness—of your work-a-day week, with a special series of sermons focused on our need for God’s gift of refreshment.
Can God really make us new, as the Bible says? And what does that mean, exactly? What does the Bible teach about rest, and how can we make rest a practical reality in our lives? Does God rest? What part does reflecting on faith have as it relates to our freedom and rights as Americans? Does God care about our nation? The Bible is full of drama, and Christian faith is a serious matter. So, in this season of beaches and barbeques, fireworks and festivals, picnics and playgrounds, what’s God’s position on fun and play? How can we be rejuvenated and renewed in our Christian faith? What difference would it make?
Enjoy a new perspective each week, as I share thoughts and experiences in a summer preaching series entitled "Refreshing My Spirit."
June 21: “Refreshing My Spirit”: Part 1 – Recreation
June 28: Part 2 – Rest
July 12: Part 3 – Reflection
July 19: Part 4 – Rejuvenation
July 26: Part 5 – Renewal
See you each Sunday, and please come in casual, cool attire so that you feel comfortable! I will, too! Thanks!
The peace of the Lord be with you always!
